Francisco A. Kerdel, MD is an internationally recognized board certified dermatologist who has spent over four decades treating patients while also devoting his time to research and education. He graduated from the University of London, St. Thomas’s Hospital in 1979 and completed a dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School. He later went on to become a Research Fellow in Applied Dermatopathology at Guy’s Hospital in London before returning to the states to complete a dermatology fellowship at the New York University School of Medicine. He has special qualifications in dermatological immunology/diagnostic and laboratory immunology and has been included in countless scientific publications, books and scholarly articles. He is affiliated with the University of Miami Hospital and is also the Director of the Dermatology Inpatient Unit at Larkin Community Hospital, the only dermatology inpatient unit in Florida and one of the very few in the United States. He assumed this position more than twenty years ago and each year, he treats more than 400 patients with the most difficult dermatological conditions.
